FAPESP and CNRS issue call for proposals Versão em português

As part of their accord on scientific cooperation, FAPESP and the French Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS, National Center for Scientific Research) have jointly issued a new call for researcher exchange between Brazil and France.
Researchers are eligible to register if they have an ongoing project funded by one of the following mechanisms: Research Support for Standard Projects; Research Support for Thematic Projects; the Young Researchers in Emerging Centers Program; and the Centers for Research, Innovation and Dissemination (Cepid) Program.
On the French side, applicants must work in a French research institution and be eligible for CNRS funding. This FAPESP Call for Proposals (no. 20/2009) is open to proposals in all fields of science and technology. Each project should have a maximum duration of 24 months.
Proposals will be accepted until December 22, 2009, and require two simultaneous submissions; one to FAPESP by a researcher based in the state of São Paulo and another to the CNRS by a French counterpart. Each funding institution will select proposals using its own procedures and metrics.
Only those proposals selected by both FAPESP and the CNRS will receive financing. For approved proposals, FAPESP will make funds available to cover airfare, health insurance and living expenses for researchers from the state of São Paulo while they are working in France. The CNRS will cover airfare, health insurance and living expenses for French researchers working in São Paulo.
