FAPESP and HUJ issue call for proposals Versão em português
FAPESP and the Hebrew University Jerusalem (HUJ) are accepting proposals for the interchange of researchers involving exchange missions within the range of scientific cooperation. Inscriptions can be made up to August 15, 2011.
The proposals can be submitted by principal investigators in the HUJ, in Israel, and in São Paulo by researchers associated to public or private Higher Education or Research Institutions in the State of São Paulo, who are principal investigators of ongoing research projects funded by FAPESP within the following modalities: Regular Research Awards, Thematic Projects, Young Investigators, or Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers (CEPIDs).
The Call for Proposals invites research proposals in all fields. The duration of the proposed research project should be up to 24 months.
FAPESP and HUJ expect to fund approximately 5 proposals each one with a total cost (sum of cost to FAPESP and cost to HUJ) of around US$ 100,000.
FAPESP will provide the selected proposals with funds for small equipments, consumables and third party services required for the research project, including travel (air tickets), health insurance and living allowances for the State of Sao Paulo researchers traveling to work at the HUJ.
The HUJ will provide the selected projects with funds for small equipments, consumables and third party services required for the research project, including travel (air tickets), health insurance, and living allowances for the HUJ researchers travelling to work at the State of São Paulo (the travel, insurance and living allowances must not exceed US$ 5,000 in total per mission and must not exceed US$12,000 per year).
The proposals must be submitted to FAPESP, by the researcher in the State of São Paulo and to HUJ by his collaborator in Jerusalem. The process of analysis, qualification and selection of the proposals received by FAPESP and the HUJ will be carried out by ad hoc committees especially appointed by the FAPESP’s Scientific Director and the HUJ Vice President for Research and Development.
