Opportunities for collaborative research with Canada Versão em português
The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) will soon offer new opportunities for collaborative research between scientists in Canada and São Paulo State.
These opportunities will also be funded by FAPESP, which currently has a cooperation agreement with NSERC to promote collaborative research in science, technology and innovation.
The first call for proposals focuses on NSERC’s Strategic Project Grants (SPG) and involves four research areas: Environmental Science and Technology; Information and Communication Technology; Manufacturing; and Natural Resources and Energy.
Proposals should be submitted to NSERC. São Paulo State Researchers will be funded by FAPESP through its Regular Research Grant line. Details of the call for proposals will be released in mid-January 2013. More information about the SPG is available at the following link: www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/Professors-Professeurs/RPP-PP/SPG-SPS_eng.asp.
The second funding opportunity is under NSERC’s Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program, which will fund research training activities involving researchers from São Paulo State and Canada.
The activities will run the gamut and should stimulate quality in research training programs by affording participants access to ideas, resources and experiences.
Researchers from São Paulo State can submit proposals to FAPESP in partnership with Canadian researchers that have (or will submit) proposals under the auspices of CREATE.
The call for proposals will be open beginning February 4 when the norms for participation will also be released. Information about the CREATE program is available at: e www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/NSERC-CRSNG/ProgramNewsDetails-NouvellesDesProgrammesDetails_eng.asp?ID=379.
