The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), Brazil and the University Outreach and International Programs (UOIP) at University of California, Davis issued a public Call for Proposals for the support of joint collaborative proposals in the Humanities and Social Sciences under a new program of scientific cooperation agreement between the institutions.
Up to $100,000 in funding will be made available for this first call; 50% by FAPESP and 50% by UC Davis.
Researchers regarded as eligible to submit proposals within the scope of this call are, by FAPESP, principal investigators of ongoing research projects funded by FAPESP within the support lines: Regular Research Awards, Thematic Projects, Young Investigators, or Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers (CEPIDs/RIDCs). Co-principal investigators of ongoing Thematic Projects or CEPIDs/RIDCs are also elegible to apply.
By US Davis, member of the UC Davis faculty with PI status.
Only those proposals selected by both FAPESP and UOIP will be funded. FAPESP and UOIP/UC Davis will each provide funding of up to $10,000 per proposal, per year. The maximum duration of each project is 24 months.
The deadline for submission of proposals is May 15th, 2013.
Preference will be given to proposals that strengthen international collaboration in the humanities and social sciences; foster interdisciplinary collaborations; build new partnerships; support activities that can be sustained beyond the seed grant; and offer promise for additional funding or support.
The call for proposals is available at: www.fapesp.br/en/7560 and http://uoip.ucdavis.edu/fapesp.cfm.
