FAPESP and California Institute for Regenerative Medicine issue call for proposals Versão em português
The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) announces a call for research proposals and invites researchers associated to Higher Education and Research Organizations in the State of São Paulo to submit research proposals under the Scientific Cooperation Agreement between FAPESP and the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM).
The call for proposals is issued in coordination with funding announcements from the CIRM (www.cirm.ca.gov/our-funding/research-rfas/tools-and-technologies-iii). Applications must be in collaborations either between researchers from State of California and the State of São Paulo
FAPESP and CIRM confirm their mutual interest in exploring joint efforts to foster research in the area of regenerative medicine. Both parties are convinced that breakthroughs in the area will only occur if adequate funding and other support is made available to researches and word wide cooperation is facilitated.
CIRM and FAPESP encourage the submission of proposals that are focused on the creation, design and testing of broadly applicable novel tools and technologies and the optimization, improvement, standardization or scale up of existing tools or technologies for addressing translational bottlenecks to stem cell therapies.
The applicants shall apply for funding to their respective funding agencies. FAPESP is prepared to fund the total amount of up to US$700.000 to the selected proposals from the State of São Paulo. CIRM intends to commit up to US$35 million to support up to 20 grants.
For the applicant PI in the State of São Paulo, the collaborative proposal must be submitted to FAPESP as a Thematic Projects Research Award.
The submission process involve a pre application that should be sent to FAPESP until 12:00 pm (Brasília time) January 07, 2014, as one pdf file to chamada_CIRM@fapesp.br.
