FAPESP-UNC Charlotte: Amendment nº 1 to the Agreement Versão em português
Amendment nº 1 to the Cooperation Agreement signed on April 23, 2014, between the Sao Paulo Research Foundation and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
The Sao Paulo Research Foundation (hereinafter referred to as “FAPESP”), R. Pio XI, 1500, Alto da Lapa, 05468-901 São Paulo, SP, Brazil, represented by Prof. José Goldemberg, President and the University of North Carolina – Charlotte (hereinafter referred to as “UNC Charlotte”) 9201, University City Blvd, Charlotte, NC, 28223-0001, United States of America. UNC Charlotte is part of the University of North Carolina system, a state government agency. UNC Charlotte’s academic programs are accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate degrees. UNC Charlotte is represented by Philip Dubois, Chancellor. Both FAPESP and UNC Charlotte are hereinafter referred to as “Parties”:
RECOGNIZING the positive results of the partnership between FAPESP and UNC Charlotte, and their disbursement of the resources originally foreseen in the Agreement to support selected projects in joint calls for proposals;
RECOGNIZING that the Signatories wish to continue this partnership, established in the Cooperation Agreement signed by the Signatories on April 23, 2014 announcing new calls for proposals;
AGREE to change the clause addressed below, as follows:
1) Restate the second paragraph of the Clause Fifth, replacing it with the following:
Clause 5. Funding – “The amount for funding to be offered to support collaborative research projects will be defined, depending on available resources, by the Joint Steering Committee which will be composed of UNC Charlotte and FAPESP representatives in each Call for Proposals.”
2) Except as specifically amended hereby, the terms and conditions of the Cooperation Agreement remain in full force and effect.
Therefore, in mutual consent of the Parties, this Amendment is signed in two copies, in English and Portuguese, both texts being equally authentic.
