FAPESP announce new call for proposals with the Newton Fund Versão em português
The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), the National Council for the State Funding Agencies (CONFAP) and the State Funding Agencies (FAPs) of Brazil, the Academy of Medical Sciences, the British Academy, the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society of the United Kingdom announce a call for proposals to support UK scientists as visitors, or, in the case of FAPESP, also as young-investigators willing to start their scientific carreers in São Paulo.
The UK Academies will offer Newton International Fellowships and Newton Advanced Fellowships to the Brazilian research community.
In the State of São Paulo, the call is open to short-term (from 7 days to 12 months) and medium to long term (from 6 months to 36 months) mobility for UK researchers to visit research groups in São Paulo.
FAPESP will also offer an opportunity for young investigators from the UK to start a research career in a university or research institution in the State of São Paulo through its Young Investigator Awards.
The UK Academies, specifically the British Academy, the Academy of Medical Sciences and the Royal Society, will offer Newton International Fellowships and Newton Advanced Fellowships to the Brazilian research community, covering the fields of natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, and medical (including clinical and patient-orientated research) sciences.
The British Academy, the Royal Society and the Royal Academy of Engineering will also offer mobility grants to the Brazilian research community, covering the fields of natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, and engineering.
The required documentation for the proposals must be submitted to FAPESP by the applicant from the State of São Paulo before October 23, 2015.
