Guideline for applicants
1. Introduction
ERA.Net-LAC is a Network of the European Union (EU), Latin America and the Caribbean Countries (CELAC) funded by the European Commission within FP7 (Seventh Framework European Commission) with the aim of promoting joint activities for Research and Innovation to strengthen the bi-regional partnership in Science, Technology and Innovation.
Among the ERA.Net-LAC joint activities are the Joint Transnational Calls. The 2nd Joint Transnational Call was launched by the ERA.Net-LAC in December 01, 2015 and the deadline for submission of proposals is until March 10, 2016 (at 15:00 CET).
The aim of the 2nd ERA.Net-LAC Joint Call is to promote jointly activities in Research and Innovation between researchers from Europe, Latin-America and the Caribbean countries, creating a long-term collaborations network with innovative, sustainable and multilateral character.
In order to foster the scientific collaboration between researchers from the State of São Paulo, Brazil and the European Union, Latin America and Caribbean, FAPESP publicly announces its participation in the 2nd ERA. Net-LAC Joint Call for Proposals.
This opportunity is open to interested researchers, affiliated to Higher Education Institutions and Research Centers in the State of São Paulo, Brazil who must follow beyond the ERA.Net-LAC guidelines (available in http://eranet-lac.eu/Joint_Calls.php#Announcements) the guidelines described below.
2. Submission of Proposals
2.1 FAPESP will support research projects in all Topics listed in the 2nd ERA.Net-LAC Joint Call (available at http://eranet-lac.eu/assets/moxiemanager/Call_Text_final_4_Jan_2016.pdf);
2.2 The project submitted to FAPESP must have the same core of the project submitted to the ERA.Net-LAC;
2.3 The applicants must follow the timeline of the 2nd ERA.Net-LAC Joint Call (item 7, available at http://eranet-lac.eu/assets/moxiemanager/Call_Text_final_4_Jan_2016.pdf);
2.4 Besides the guidelines of the 2nd ERA.Net-LAC Joint Call (http://eranet-lac.eu/Joint_Calls.php), the researchers from the State of São Paulo must follow FAPESP's rules, including the eligibility criteria, related to submissions of Regular Projects, (www.fapesp.br/137#4772);
2.5 The proposal, submitted in English, shall contain:
a) Research Proposal form (including the regular list of documents listed there) and Researcher’s Registration Form;
b) Summary of the Principal Investigators’ CV and CVs of Collaborating Researchers from both sides (in English, following the guidelines at www.fapesp.br/en/6351);
c) Budget worksheets specifically designed for this Call .
e) Work plan for each scholarship submitted, if applicable.
2.6 In addition to FAPESP's rules for Regular Projects and exceptionally for this Call for Proposals:
a) The duration of projects is up to 36 months;
b) Proposals must be submitted in English;
c) The total budget requested to FAPESP (including “Reserva Técnica” and possible scholarships), should be less than € 50,000.00 per proposal for proposals with duration of 36 months. For proposals with lowest duration, the maximum requested value must be proportionally smaller.
3. How to Apply
Submissions for FAPESP can only be accepted "in paper" via mail to the following address: Rua Pio XI, 1500, Alto da Lapa, CEP 05468-901 - São Paulo/SP, with "Call FAPESP / Consortium ERA.NET - LAC" written on the envelope. Will be considered the date of the postal postmark stamped on the envelope. Proposals submitted by any other means will not be accepted. Proposals submitted after the deadline for submission will not be reviewed.
3.1 No proposal will be accepted after the deadline for submission, or any addendum or other explanation than those explicitly and formally requested by FAPESP or at ERA.NET consortium - LAC;
3.2 Proposals that do not comply with the terms of these guidelines will not qualify for analysis.
