1º Addendum to the Cooperation Agreement for Research between the São Paulo Research Foundation and the University of Sydney

The São Paulo Research Foundation - FAPESP, established by Law nº 5.918, of October 18th, 1960, with headquarters at Rua Pio XI, 1500, Alto da Lapa, São Paulo, SP, enrolled in CNPJ/MF under nº 43.828.151/0001-45, herein represented according to article 11, “a” of Law nº 5.918, combined with its General Rule approved by Decree n° 40.132, of May 23, 1962, represented by its Director President of the Technical Administrative Board, Prof. JOSÉ ARANA VARELA, hereinafter referred to as FAPESP, and The University of Sydney [ABN 15 211 513 464] of c/o Level 6, Jane Foss Russell Building (G02), The University of Sydney NSW, 2006, Australia a body corporate under the University of Sydney Act 1989, represented by Prof. Duncan Ivison, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, both hereinafter referred to as “Parties”:

CONSIDERING the importance of continuing to promote cooperation in scientific and technological research between Australia and the State of São Paulo, Brazil;

CONSIDERING the need to continuing strengthening the links between the scientific communities of both countries and also to encourage new forms of collaboration between its research centers;

Agree as follow:

1. Section One

By this Addendum the Parties decide to extend the duration of their cooperation agreement. The Parties undertake to implement scientific and technological cooperation between researchers from the University of Sydney and the state of São Paulo, Brazil, celebrated on April 3, 2014 until April 2, 2019.

2. Section Two

The other cooperation agreement clauses not changed by this Addendum are maintained. And declared their intentions, the Parties sign this Addendum in two (02) originals, in English and Portuguese version, with equal content and form and equally valid:
