FAPESP and Belmont Forum announce new call for proposals
The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Belmont Forum, group of member organizations with the mission to encourage research on global changes, announce a new call for proposals under the cooperation agreement signed by the institutions.
Through this call the Belmont Forum, in collaboration with Future Earth, aims at bringing together researchers and other expertise across the globe to come up with concrete pathways, novel actions or solutions to provide a contribution to health system climate resilience and improved health, leading to benefits in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This call, entitled “Climate, Environment and Health”, is supported by Belmont Forum’s 12 selected funding agencies from nine different countries. The complete list of participants can be found at www.bfgo.org/opportunity.
The call will support collaborative projects in the topics “Food systems and nutrition”, “Heat and health” and “Climate-sensitive infectious diseases”.
Proposals must combine significant contributions by national research teams from at least three of the countries participating in the international call.
Proponents from the State of São Paulo must follow the specific guidelines, based on the scheme of FAPESP’s Regular Research Awards. Exceptions are described in the call for proposals. Proven experience in international interdisciplinary projects and preliminary eligibility consultation to FAPESP are also required (due date is May 6, 2019).
Leading principal investigators of each consortium must submit pre-registrations directly to Belmont Forum, also until May 6, 2019.
After the full proposals submission phase, by August 2019, principal investigators from the State of São Paulo will be individually contacted by FAPESP for further instructions on how to submit the complete documentation through SAGe system.
Guidelines for researchers from the State of São Paulo are available at www.fapesp.br/en/12715.
