FAPESP and NWO will fund research in healthy ageing Versão em português
FAPESP and Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) announce the launch of a new call for proposals for the selection and funding of collaborative research.
This call of proposals focuses on "Healthy Ageing". The funded projects must seek to understand the biological determinants of the heterogeneity of the ageing process, developing instruments to allow stratification of target groups and hence the development of personalised and/or stratified prevention and optimized treatment strategies, while maximizing the functional capacity, independence, and quality of life of older persons.
Proposals must be jointly written, in one side, by researchers affiliated with higher education or research institutions in São Paulo State, and, in the other side, by researchers from Dutch universities and research institutes eligible for NWO funding.
It is expected that research activities be conducted on both sides, including the exchange of researchers, and that the project and the intellectual contribution is evenly balanced between São Paulo and the Netherlands.
It is envisaged that applications will display a balanced partnership, not specifically in monetary terms but with equivalent research commitment and efforts from both sides.
Researchers eligible from São Paulo State must meet the FAPESP eligibility requirements for either Thematic Research Projects or Young Investigator Awards.
Researchers from São Paulo State must consult FAPESP about their eligibility to this Call before starting the preparation of their proposals. The consultation for eligibility must be sent up to August, 1st. Only eligible researchers are allowed to submit proposals.
Deadline for submission of proposals is September 3rd, 2019. The call is available at: www.fapesp.br/en/12907.
