FAPESP and Swedish agency Vinnova will fund innovation projects Versão em português

FAPESP announces the launching of a new call for proposal with Vinnova, the Swedish government’s innovation agency, under the title São Paulo – Sweden Cooperation in Industrial Research and Innovation Projects. This is the first initiative on the cooperation agreement between the institutions.
The opportunity aims at fostering scientific research projects between the State of São Paulo and Sweden that can yield highly innovative products and processes with significant commercial potential considering both Sweden and Brazil as well as the global market.
The call for proposals also privileges a win-win perspective in the context of a technological exchange capable of bringing benefits for Swedish and Brazilian companies, research institutions and civil societies.
In addition to show how the contributions of each party are balanced and how the specific market demands are met, proponents must observe the following thematic areas which are key within this call: Aeronautics; Bioeconomy; Platforms for ICT/IOT (smart cities, mining, mobility); and Life Sciences.
Proposals must be submitted by October 31st to both Vinnova (via eServices Portal) and FAPESP (via SAGe system). Vinnova will accept submissions made by Swedish legal entities only, while submissions to FAPESP must be made by researchers affiliated to teaching and research institutions based in the State of São Paulo only.
Projects must be written bilaterally, which means proposals should have collaborations involving at least one company from one country or another. FAPESP and Vinnova will concede joint funding for selected proposals. In the State of São Paulo, proposals should follow the rules of the FAPESP Research Partnership for Technological Innovation Program – Modality 2 (PITE 2).
