FAPESP and the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) has issued a new call for proposals for research projects in collaboration between scientists from France and scientists from the State of São Paulo under the cooperation agreement signed by ANR and FAPESP.

This is the 16th time FAPESP and ANR are teaming in a call for proposals. It has been ten years since FAPESP and ANR first jointly promoted an international opportunity for scientific research.

Four new themes were added to the framework of ANR’s Generic Call for Proposals 2020 – namely, “Chemistry,” “Physics,” “Mathematics,” and “Environmental and Biological Resources”. Considering that all themes from the previous edition (“Engineering”, “Information and Communications Technologies”, and “Social Sciences and Humanities”) were maintained, the new call for proposals boasts seven themes that cover many fields of knowledge.

For those interested, a pre-registration must be made exclusively by French researchers until October 25, 2018, following ANR procedures. This is the same deadline for São Paulo researchers to ask FAPESP for eligibility checks.

Those considered eligible and with approved pre-registration will be invited by ANR in February 2020 to submit full proposals until March 2020. For applicants from the State of São Paulo, collaborative proposals will be carried out at FAPESP as Regular Research Awards (especially for this call, with up to 48 months of duration) or as Thematic Projects (48 months).

The call for proposals is available (in Portuguese) at www.fapesp.br/13448.
