1st Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding for Research between the São Paulo Research Foundation and the University of Warwick Versão em português
THE SÃO PAULO RESEARCH FOUNDATION - FAPESP, established by Law nº 5.918, of October 18th, 1960, with headquarters at Rua Pio XI, 1500, Alto da Lapa, São Paulo, SP, enrolled in CNPJ/MF under nº 43.828.151/0001-45, herein represented according to article 11, “a” of Law nº 5.918, combined with its General Rule approved by Decree n° 40.132, of May 23, 1962, represented by its President, Prof Marco Antonio Zago, in the exercise of the powers delegated by the Act of the Governor of the State of São Paulo, published in the Official Gazette of the State of September 29th, 2018, hereinafter referred to as FAPESP, and THE UNIVERSITY OF WARWICK, UK hereinafter referred to as “Warwick”, who received its Royal Charter of Incorporation in 1965, and whose administrative offices are located at University House, Kirby Corner Road, Coventry CV4 8UW, England, represented by Mr. Andrew Smith, Finance Director, hereinafter referred to as "Parties”:
CONSIDERING the importance of promoting cooperation in scientific and technological research between UK and the State of São Paulo, Brazil, wishing to strengthen this cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit;
CONSIDERING the need to strengthen the links between the scientific communities of both countries, and also to encourage new forms of collaboration between its research centres;
IT IS HEREBY AGREED AS FOLLOWS:
1. In accordance with clause 7.a of the MOU, the Parties agree to extend the duration of the MoU for an additional five (5) years from when the MOU was due to expire and therefore, the MoU shall now terminate on 18 June 2024;
2. All other terms of the MOU remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
Declared their intentions, the Parties sign this Amendment in two (2) originals, in English and Portuguese versions, with equal content and form, and equally valid:
