FAPESP and NSF announce new Dimensions of Biodiversity call for proposals Versão em português
FAPESP and the National Science Foundation (NSF) of the United States announce a new call for research proposals and invite researchers to submit scientific cooperation projects through the Dimensions of Biodiversity program.
Interested researchers are encouraged to propose projects that transcend traditional boundaries between biodiversity research areas. The program focuses on the genetic, phylogenetic and functional dimensions of biodiversity. Successful proposals will test hypotheses on the mechanisms that regulate the origin, maintenance or functions of biodiversity and should integrate these three dimensions.
The FAPESP schemes for support in this call for proposals are Thematic Project and Young Investigator Grant. FAPESP will support up to two projects, which may last up to 60 months.
Researchers from the state of São Paulo must consult FAPESP regarding their eligibility before starting the project. The consultation should be made by 22 March 2021. Pre-approved eligibility researchers will be invited to submit full proposals by 26 March through SAGe.
For funding by FAPESP, each proposal submitted must involve at least two eligible researchers, at least one from the United States (to be financed by the NSF) and one from the state of São Paulo.
The call for proposals with instructions regarding researchers from Sao Paulo State is available (in Portuguese) at: www.fapesp.br/biota/dimensions-NSF2021.
The complete call for proposals is available at the National Science Foundation website: www.nsf.gov/pubs/2021/nsf21545/nsf21545.htm.
