FAPESP and NERC launch a new call for bilateral projects Versão em português
FAPESP and the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) announce a new call for proposals open for joint projects from researchers with current grants from the agencies related to the proposed themes.
The opportunity is possible through an agreement between FAPESP and the United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI) of which NERC is a member.
The aim of the FAPESP-NERC Global Partnerships Seedcorn Fund is to develop, through short-term collaboration mechanisms, new partnerships between research groups from São Paulo and the United Kingdom in environmental sciences. Each proposal must have a principal investigator from the state of São Paulo and a principal investigator from the United Kingdom.
Proposals in the call should address NERC's areas of activity, which include earth and marine sciences, freshwater biology, archeology, polar sciences and atmospheric and Earth observation.
Benefits expected from from the implementation of the selected projects include the establishment of long-term, self-sustainable collaborations and the creation of high impact knowledge.
The projects will receive support for mobility and exchange activities (such as daily travel and workshops) and for costs of exploratory studies (inputs, third-party services and low-cost equipment).
FAPESP will offer grants under the rules of the Regular Research Grant, with duration of two years. Researchers from British institutions must follow the NERC guidelines. Results should be announced by July 31, 2021.
