FAPESP announces result of call for proposals with UNESCO program Versão em português
25 beneficiaries of FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowships residing in one of the 46 least developed countries in the world were selected according to the list of TWAS – The World Academy of Sciences
FAPESP announces the award of 25 FAPESP Post-Doctoral Fellowships for researchers from less developed countries to carry out research in projects with ongoing FAPESP Support.
This is the result of a call for proposals launched in partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), through its program The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), in which natural researchers and residents in one of the 46 least developed countries present in a list provided by the United Nations and available in http://twas.org/least-developed-countries-ldcs participated.
In April, FAPESP had pre-selected principal investigators of ongoing FAPESP grants who applied to supervise a foreign fellow at their institution. UNESCO then published the list of eligible candidates in research and higher education institutions in the least developed countries to promote contact between potential candidates from these countries and scientists from São Paulo, which in response submitted via SAGe the proposals for funding via the FAPESP program for Post-Doctoral Scholarships in Brazil.
Initially, the call would select up to twenty projects, but 25 were approved due to the high quality of the proposals.
