FAPESP launches new call with SNSF

Collaborative projects between researchers from Switzerland and the state of São Paulo will be supported in any area of knowledge.

FAPESP announces the opening of a new call for proposals with the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) to support collaborative research projects that bring together researchers from Switzerland and the state of São Paulo.

Proposals can be submitted in all areas of knowledge. FAPESP will cover the costs of the research team in the state of São Paulo. The projects will be supported in the Research Aid – Regular (with a maximum duration of up to 36 months) or Research Aid – Thematic Project (up to 48 months) modalities.

The SNSF will finance the costs relating to the Swiss team, according to its rules. Additionally, if researchers from a third state or country are included in the proposal, no more than 20% of the SNSF budget may be requested to cover the third country partner's research costs. The remainder must be provided by another source of financing.

Researchers from the state of São Paulo and researchers from Switzerland can submit collaborative research projects to both institutions, with alternating leadership between FAPESP and SNSF. SNSF, the lead agency for the round, will be conducting the merit analysis process of proposals received by April 1, 2025, on behalf of both institutions.

The deadline for submission is April 1, 2025

The call is published at: fapesp.br/17145.
