FAPESP to support mobility and exchange activities with German institution Versão em português
Call with THI contemplates projects of 1 to 2 years with a view to the development of medium-long term collaborations, in three different topics in the area of innovation and technology.
FAPESP is launching a Call for Proposals in partnership with the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI), Germany, to support mobility and exchange activities between researchers from the state of São Paulo and the German institution of higher education and research.
This is the first Call organized in the history of the cooperation agreement between the two institutions, signed in March 2024. Researchers with a FAPESP Grant in force for at least 6 months from the submission deadline (12/16/2024) can participate.
The Call provides two modalities to support mobility projects: in Track 1 – Research Initiation, projects that seek new collaborations on topics of mutual interest will be funded for up to one year; Track 2 – Research Deepening is aimed at teams that already collaborate and are ready to deepen their research objectives or start new areas of study – the duration of the projects should be from one to two years.
Both modalities will cover expenses for workshops, exchange of researchers and costs of exploratory studies. Scientific missions can last up to three months in Track 1 and up to six months in Track 2.
In this way, the Call seeks its objective of initiating research collaborations and deepening already established connections between researchers from the state of São Paulo and THI.
The Call will receive proposals in three research areas – “Vehicle Safety and Innovative Mobility”, “Artificial Intelligence” and “Renewable Energies” – and especially encourages research developed in cooperation with industry, taking advantage of THI's innovation environment.
The research project must be conceived and written jointly by researchers from the state of São Paulo and THI, in English. Applicants must also clarify how the submitted proposal will create conditions for the preparation of a medium to long-term bilateral collaboration to be submitted to both funding agencies.
Proposals will be received exclusively via the SAGe System until December 16.
