FAPESP and BE-Basic announce results of call for proposals Scientists working in the State of São Paulo, Brazil and scientists associated to BE-Basic in The Netherlands will colaborate in the selected projects that will be funded by the institutions (BE-Basic)

The State of São Paulo Research Foundation, FAPESP (Brazil) and the BE-Basic Consortium (The Netherlands) announced the result of a call for proposals issued in 2011 by the institutions.

In the call for proposals, BE-Basic and FAPESP intend to jointly fund collaborative research projects including, but not restricted to the following areas: Synthetic Biology for Biofuels and Bio-based chemicals; and Sustainability.

The aim is promoting and supporting research projects involving the collaboration between scientists working in the State of São Paulo, Brazil and scientists associated to BE-Basic in The Netherlands.

The research projects should help to build up scientific and technological competencies, foster strategic alliances for scientific and technological development, promote the dissemination of knowledge and generate results which potentially could lead to applications with commercial value in the areas of interest to FAPESP through its BIOEN Program and BE-Basic.

The selected proposals were announced during the “NWO-FAPESP-CNPq Joint Workshop for developing research collaborations on the Bio-Base Economy”, organized by FAPESP and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Resarch in São Paulo. The workshop was attended by officers from BE-Basic.
