FAPESP is a participant of the Crops of the Future Collaborative consortium, an initiative of the Foundation for Food and Agriculture (FFAR), a non-profit organization formed with the mission of accelerating global crop development efforts to meet global food demand in the world in the next 20 to 50 years.
Established in 2017, the Crops of the Future Collaborative brings together the knowledge and resources of companies and research institutions to broaden their understanding of the biochemical, physiological and molecular mechanisms that characterize different cultures to develop predictive models and adapt to a climate change environment. In addition to FAPESP and FFAR, Bayer, other participants are Biogemma, KWS, Precision PlantSciences, Rijk Zwaan and CIMMYT.
The knowledge generated by the consortium will be available in scientific publications and information platforms, benefiting efforts to create cultures in the public and private sectors, in an innovative initiative in the area.
