FAPESP participates in new calls for proposals from the Horizon Europe program Versão em português

Opportunities are for international collaborations in networks linked to the European Commission to support research on water resources and biodiversity.

FAPESP announces its participation, at the invitation of the National Council of State Research Support Foundations (CONFAP), in two new calls for proposals launched under Horizon Europe, a European Commission program.

Each call is linked to a network of scientific organizations in the program focused on funding and implementing research with a specific purpose within the paradigm of socio-environmental sustainability.

The first of these is Biodiversa+, the name of the European Partnership for Biodiversity, with which FAPESP has previously collaborated in a call in 2019 and another in 2023, and which supports scientific initiatives of excellence and high impact in biodiversity, ecosystem services and nature-based solutions.

The new call, Biodiversity and Transformative Change – BiodivTransform, covers the following topics: 1) Biodiversity and socio-ecological systems; and 2) Transformative change.

At FAPESP, proposal submissions must follow the rules and guidelines of the Regular Research Grant modality.

The total budget made available by FAPESP for the call will be equivalent to up to 600 thousand euros to support proposals awarded to proponents from the state of São Paulo.

Each proposal must have a principal investigator in the state of São Paulo and, in accordance with the guidelines of the BiodivTransform Call, bring together in a transnational project eligible partners from at least two other organizations that participate financially in the call, including at least 2 Member States of the European Union (EU) or countries associated with the EU.

The deadline for submitting the pre-proposal is November 8, 2024.

The call is published at: fapesp.br/17150.
