BELMONT FORUM

The Belmont Forum (www.belmontforum.org) is an international funding effort, established in 2009, as a partnership of research funding organizations, international science councils, and regional consortia committed to the advancement of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary science. A basic principle of the Belmont Forum is the recognition of the need and value of international cooperation and co-ordination for advancing global environmental change research.

The central mote and motivation, known as the Belmont Challenge, refers to “International transdisciplinary research providing knowledge for understanding, mitigating and adapting to global environmental change”.
